Abstract

Enterprise SaaS platforms face a critical challenge: enabling diverse tenants to customize applications while maintaining platform integrity. This paper presents an aspect-oriented framework that addresses four key customization concerns: modeling variation points, describing inter-variation relationships, validating tenant selections, and runtime adaptation. The approach integrates Orthogonal Variability Modeling for intuitive representation of customization options, a Metagraph-based validation algorithm to ensure configuration consistency, and AO4BPEL for dynamic runtime weaving without downtime. Using a travel agency case study, the framework demonstrates how enterprise tenants can safely customize workflow and service layers while preserving multi-tenant efficiency. The research provides SaaS providers with a systematic methodology for offering flexible customization capabilities without compromising architectural control.
